Where were you born and where did you grow up ?
Born in Marton – my parents lived in Bulls and then we shifted a few miles up the road to the outskirts of Marton when I was four. We were close to Ohakea Airbase and frequently saw (then heard) Skyhawks screaming across the countryside doing low level flying. The other notable thing was we were only a few miles from the now notorious Lake Alice Hospital and the parents of the kids I went to school with worked there. I remember the Pugmire kids (their father was the boss) but don’t recall the infamous Dr Leets – maybe he didn’t have school age kids. I got to see round the secure (i.e. prison) wing before it was opened including a few padded calls.
Who is your favourite golfer and why ?
Tiger – but as a golfer not a person. The effect he has had on golf is without parallel in our generation.
