Final Day - Glorious Sunshine

For our final day, we all headed to The Glades.  It was a stunning day with wall to wall sunshine, cooling breezes, and temperatures in the mid 20s.  The weather took a while but we got there.

Here we have classic hole design.  A par 4 hole which isn't overly long and for the big hitters the green is on if you want to carry all of the water.  For the rest you decide how much you want to bite off, take aim, and give it your best.  A fun hole.

We played the eliminator and Group 4 comprising 2 Davids, Hubby and Bob took home the chocolates with 40 points.

Great Night Back At The House

After golf we had our final night in the BBQ area back at the hotel.  Superb area with great facilities and we made the most of it on a balmy Queensland evening.

Here we see the team at work.  Hamish on onion duty, Bob doing the sausages and steaks at the ready.  John at the back checking all is going well.  We had a great feast and then The Sheriff did his stuff.

Here we see our Sheriff getting shots ready.  He'd bought some lolly water liquor in duty free which we were all obliged to drink.  But Bolty did a great job, kept us all on our toes and the fines we all paid and accepted as charged.

Our Winners

The Roomies was a close run thing but in the end, Ray Grubb and Bruce Grant took out top spot.  The teams results was;

1. The GGs    304. ( Bruce and Ray )
2. To E Or Not To E    300  ( Hamish and Vaughn )
3. The Not So Thin Blue Line    292  ( Hubby and Bolty )
4. The Lefties    274  ( Eddie and Keith )
5. The Birthday Boys    264  ( David B and Geoff )
6. Fresh Off The Boaties    253  ( Duncan and David P )
7. The Hoons    246  ( Bob and Nick )
8. The Egg Shells    227  ( Yatesy and Deano )

Meanwhile in the Singles;

Here we see our winner from last year Hubby handing over the Archie Trophy to our wire to wire winner Vaughn.  Having started the week strong and being the only player on tour to break 36 points, there was only ever going to be one winner.  The ability to drop a poor score wasn't really a factor.  Congratulations Vaughn, our worthy winner.

Tour Moments

This doesn't look like a bad golf swing just quietly .... left arm straight, head still, what can possibly go wrong - plenty !!

This is another photo of the joy that is Brookwater.  Elevated tee off, hole that demands a draw for your drive then maybe a fade for your second.  Just a gorgeous spot.

Then for some reason after the BBQ Bruce decided to go for a swim.  We were all wondering what might be hiding under his beach towel.

Thanks to John for organising the tour.  He and Michael our host do a great job in delivering a stress free experience with all of the details ironed out and the rest of us just buckle up for the ride.  Collectively we put on a great night on Saturday.  How good was that.  Thanks to Bolty for keeping us honest.  Finally thanks to all for being good company and for creating a relaxed atmosphere where we could all enjoy ourselves.

And Finally
Spot The Difference

There are 3 people in this photo.  One is an elite athlete, and two are not.  Can you spot the elite athlete ?

Final tour story about Nick.  It was an early start on Sunday morning with a 5:30 am hotel departure local time.  At 4:45 am I got a text from Nick's room mate, Bob.  It said, "Hey David, Nick has locked our passports in the safe in his bedroom and he can't remember the code".

Long story short they managed to find a maintenance man AT VERY SHORT NOTICE with a safe master key.
