A Windy Day at Maroochy River

Today we toddled off for a quick 10 minute drive in the bus to Maroochy River.  The mood in the bus was refelective after the gallant Matildas from Australia went down to the Lionesses from England last night.  Duncan was a bit downhearted not because Australia had lost but because England had won.  Fair enough.

No stories really to report on today except to advise that it was a tough day on the golf course where scoring was at an all time low.  The low score today was 11 points !!

And Then It Blew Some More

In fairness we were given a very warm welcome by the one of the golf professionals at Maroochy River.  He gave us great advice, told us what to do and what not to do, pointed us in the right direction and made us all feel very welcome.  The day was windy and he told us "you might think today is windy but let me tell you it's not too bad".

Maroochy River is wide open, so there is nothing to stop the wind howling across the links.  Most people said "that was brutal" and it was certainly an ordeal.  But we got through and it was all good.  The greens were like sandpaper which is not surprising given we're in Australia. :}

And Then It Really Blew

We had a quick beer in the bar before hot - footing it back to Mooloolaba for the results.  The team winners were .....

And the individual winner today was ....
