Twin Waters - Sunshine Coast Paradise
Today it was a pleasure to play at Twin Waters. Everyone I think agrees this was the pick of the three courses we have played so far. The course was in magnificent condition, the greens were fair without being super fast, it was a decent test of golf without being too punitive. As you can see, the weather continues to deliver end to end sunshine, lovely temperatures and soft breezes. It is a joy to be playing golf in such conditions.
There are local hazards though with which to contend. Yesterday people felt hungry and bought sandwiches from the drinks cart touring the golf course. "Be careful of the crows, they'll steal your food" advised the knowledgeable local. "Yeah right" was the reply. "Thinks we were born yesterday". Whilst putting activity was happening, the local magpies figured out all too easily where the sandwiches were hidden on the golf cart, ripped apart the wrapping and they helped themselves to the chicken and other fillings. All the boys were left with were a few stale crusts. Don't say you weren't warned.
Results Of The Day
There's a back story to this photograph which we will come to in a minute. On the face of it this shows our winner and runner-up celebrating their success of a job well done. Today we played another individual game where you multiplied scores from holes on the front nine with the corresponding hole on the back nine. Doesn't sound overly complicated but for some it was a bit challenging .....

We announced the results on the outside terrace at Twin Waters, and people were invited to stand up if they had achieved a certain score or better. The idea was that as the score increased, people would sit down and we would be left with a winner - literally the last man standing. And so it proved to be with Phil being our runner up and Yatesy being the outright winner. The money was collected, distributed to the winners, and that was that. Until we had ....
BroughtonGate
Only twice in Waggler history have we had stories written stories against this black background. The first was the infamous Carvellgate, and the second was Cutlergate ( he / him ). It gives me no pleasure to announce the third dark chapter - Broughtongate......
We won't dwell too long on the proceedings except to say the mathematics of the competition wasn't equally applied. As we did the last man standing ritual, Phil didn't have 38 points to his name, it was more like 25. A bit embarrassing for an accountant. So when it came to pass that the scores had been calculated wrongly, the money was redistributed and the appropriate fines levied. Not the first time in Waggler history and not the last.
Did Someone Say Italian ...
Tonight we had a grand feast at the local Italian restaurant. We were served garlic bread, a wonderful array of pastas and risotto, and to finish a selection of gourmet pizzas. All washed down with Chianti made for a great feed. Then someone said, who let this Waggler in ...
Then There's The Lefties ....
After the posting last night about the lefty after party, there has been a bit of feedback about putting the record straight.

Lefty 1 might have got into a bit of trouble back home and now wants to be known as lefty 3. The previous lefty 3 who so far has operated under the radar made an early exit tonight, and said he needed an early night. Lefty 2 was as chipper as ever so he remains as lefty 2 doing what lefty 2 does. The previous lefty 1 now masquerading as lefty 3 continued to behave like lefty 1 so we're all confused as to who is actually who. Lefty 3 is fast asleep.
